This internship in Malaysia benefited me a lot. I not only learned the differences in medical treatment between Malaysia and Taiwan but also realized that the place was full of human kindness. When I got off the plane in Malaysia, I saw the warm greeting from the nursing staff of the dialysis center and made a hand-made bouquet of Banlan leaves for us as a welcome gift. At that time, my heart was really warm and touched. When I arrived in Penang, the nursing director of the dialysis center told us about the setting up of the kidney washing center. Let's also talk about how Sister Ye brought Tzu Chi to Malaysia. She also tells us that the reason why Tzu Chi has set up a free kidney dialysis center in Malaysia is that because of the increasing number of patients with chronic kidney disease due to the diet in Malaysia and the lack of health insurance system in Malaysia, the fees for kidney dialysis are quite expensive. Many end-stage renal disease patients are unable to afford medical treatment, which finally leads to multiple organ failure and death. As Tzu Chi volunteers have seen this situation. After asking for the permission of Master Cheng Yen, he set up a free dialysis center. From this, we can learn his story of struggle from our interviewed kidney friends. He often tells us that he would not be able to live to the present without Tzu Chi. Therefore, he also decided to do something for the world. Therefore, he, who was originally a Taoist, decided to join the ranks of Tzu Chi environmental volunteers. His heart journey from palmtop to palm bottom was touching.

At the time of my home peace visit, I always thought that I should visit patients with a serious mood. I always thought that I would be very sad during the visit. But in fact, I did not. As soon as I got started, I saw patients waving their hands to welcome us. They also raised some questions about the care of the nursing staff like they saw saviors. I didn't know until after nurses explained that the most important thing for the dying patients was to give them comfortable care. This is not a radical cure for the focus. It is to relieve the symptoms. Therefore, comfort care is the most fundamental problem in a case. The reason why they see the nursing staff as like seeing the savior is that the nursing staff can provide them with the most favorable solution and help. Moreover, this kind of service is free of charge. The whole operation is supported by donations from the public and some charity bazaars. This reminds me that there are many ways to do well.
